On Saturday... Volunteers, Andy , Brett , Patsy, Autumn, Taylor, and Tim met again.. today we worked on the Roof and the upper levels of the North side of the School.... Removing ferns, and vegetation off of the roof, walls, hallways, North Mezzanine ... Did some repairing of the Actual Roof itself, which is in dire need of attention.. literally gaping holes in it.. however , Tim straightened out the rolled roofing that had peeled back...presumably from storms and high winds, and nailed it back down. Andy, Tim , and Brett worked to remove the upper portion of an Oak Tree growing on the wall and out of the roof, actually blocking one of the rain-carrying drains. Andy cut at least half of the tree down, and Brett applied a poison to help kill it .. We don't like to take out trees, but in this instance, it is actually damaging the building. The crew removed most of the vegetation on the North side upper level... then moved to securing areas , compromised by vandals .. One of our longer sessions , time-wise , and much accomplished.
On Sunday, following Saturday's clean up, Tim, Patsy, and Andy all came back to remove the debris from the side of the stairs to the outside of the school. Pictures below.
Rainy day!! But that did not stop us! Brett Continued painting of the Portico at the front entrance. Tricia returned to lend a hand indoors, along with Patsy and Tim. Most debris removed from the area around the first story stairwells and clean out of major debris from the one of the classrooms on the first story. Progress !! Thanks so much Tricia, Patsy , and Brett !! Trying to see if we can contin
In these times of America's greatest disasters, Americans truly rise up and stand strong together . It is within these times that there are no such thing as Republicans or Democrats. These are the times where the only colors that really matter are Red, White, and Blue. Yesterday America was faced with another attack on our Freedom, our Liberty, and our Pursuit of Happiness. But as Americans we mourn then we get right back up again to until Justice is served! After all we are one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
Please take a second out of your day and send a prayer Boston's way.
On 4/20/13 as you drive by Annie Lylte you will see our Country's Stars and Stripes flying at half staff in respect to the victims of the tragic attack on freedom, the Boston Marathon Bombings.
God continue to Bless us as we Stand Strong Together.
Through an awesome donation we have now purchased the domain name for our site! You will not have to include .weebly anymore! In the case that you accidentally do include the .weebly after "savepublicschoolnumber4" not to worry, it'll still bring you to our website! Thanks for your support!
On Saturday, Andy rejoined us and did cleanup on the School's back yard. We continued inside with cleanup. The final remaining rafter leaning against the wall of the Auditorium is now down . Brett swept around a century's worth of dirt , pigeon droppings, glass, chalk, etc from the portico over the front entrance, and began the painting process. More debris to the street at the front and back of the School. 3 new signups on the volunteer team. Good day at the School, people. The stellar Annie Lytle Preservation Group Grows stronger at each meeting. Sincere thanks to everyone today for their hard work.
Yes finally! We have arrived! Our next step is to actually buy the domain name. Slowly but surely with the talent joining our volunteer team, we are making progress and arising into something great! More to come in the efforts to save Public School Number Four. Stay tuned!
